Fiorina, Ballmer, Barrett and Capellas Featured One on One With Gartner Analysts During Keynotes
STAMFORD, CONN., August 20, 2003 Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT and ITB) today announced the CEOs of the leading IT companies who will participate in Gartner's Mastermind Keynote interviews at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2003, to be held October 19-24 in Orlando, Florida.
As the top executives from some of the largest and most influential IT corporations in the world, Carly Fiorina, Steve Ballmer, Michael Capellas and Craig Barrett will join Gartner's expert analysts for candid main-stage interviews to discuss key issues in the IT industry. Symposium/ITxpo is the world's largest and most strategic annual conference for senior IT and business professionals.
"It's an exciting time in business and technology as we begin to see a slight uptick in market confidence and a return to corporate spending," said Kathy Foreman, group vice president of Worldwide Events for Gartner. "It's an ideal time to bring business and IT executives together in a forum that will provide them with the analysis, perspective and networking opportunities to make tough technology investment decisions for the coming year that will ultimately make their businesses more successful for years to come."
Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Mastermind Keynote interviews offer a unique forum that differs from the traditional "keynote speeches" customarily presented by guest CEOs. Each Mastermind Keynote session consists of incisive one-on-one interviews conducted by Gartner analysts, probing IT issues of vital concern to attendees.
Leading the Gartner Mastermind Keynote on Monday, October 20, will be Gartner's chairman and CEO, Michael Fleisher.
Additionally, on Tuesday, October 21, Carly Fiorina, chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard, Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, and Craig Barrett, CEO of Intel, will each take center stage in three separate Mastermind Keynote interviews.
On Wednesday, October 22, Michael Capellas, chairman and CEO of MCI, will be featured in a fourth Mastermind Keynote interview.
In addition to the powerhouse lineup of Mastermind Keynotes, Symposium/ITxpo examines the industry's most critical issues from Business Process Fusion to outsourcing. Leading Gartner analysts will deliver more than 200 hard-hitting sessions. Attendees at Symposium/ITxpo can meet privately with Gartner analysts and network with the highest caliber of IT professionals in the industry.
Running alongside Symposium is ITxpo, an exhibition floor showcasing more than 300 of the latest breakthrough products and services in technology, including the ITxpo Marketplaces. These unique areas on the show floor bring together vendors of a specific market and link conference learning directly to market solutions. Two Marketplace Theaters will be located on the show floor as well, offering value-add Gartner market analysis, vendor demonstrations and topic-intense learning.
"What separates Symposium/ITxpo from all other events is our intense focus on practical solutions at the very cutting edge of innovation," Foreman said. "ITxpo is the opportunity to learn about the very latest breakthroughs in technology - all in one place, all at one time."
